Claarity orthodontic bracesIf you’re in search of the perfect smile and you want to straighten your teeth, you’re probably working through all the options – from metal train tracks and ceramic braces, to Invisalign and other clear retainers. Your decision will probably be based on what you can afford, along with what will work best for your case and what you feel most comfortable with.

There’s no harm in opting for metal train tracks, they’re very effective and have a proven track record at fixing the most complex misaligned teeth. But you may also be on the lookout for almost invisible options that don’t cost the earth.

One of the loved and trusted brands we use here at Oldham Orthodontics is Clarity™ Ceramic Braces, a fabulous brace system that is virtually invisible. The ceramic brackets use ‘Spring Clip’ technology and hold the accolade for using the smallest brackets out there.

Why are they so good?

Clarity™ Ceramic Braces are designed to blend in seamlessly with your tooth colour, while the ‘Spring Clip’ technology makes them particularly effective. Furthermore, the small brackets mean there’s less chance of your ceramic braces irritating your gums. Finally, they’re stain resistant, strong and efficient. What’s not to love?

How long is treatment?

With Clarity™, each case is individual, but treatment time can be anywhere from six months to two years.

Will treatment be painful?

In all forms of orthodontic treatment, people experience a certain level of discomfort. Depending on the sensitivity of your teeth and where you are in your treatment plan, discomfort can be mild to moderate, lasting just a few hours to a week. This can be easily solved with some over the counter painkillers, and is a small price to pay for a killer smile.

Are they expensive?

Clarity™ Ceramic Braces are more expensive than traditional train tracks, but can be cheaper than things like Invisalign. Why not book in for a consultation where we can discuss all options and pricing?

How often do I have to see the orthodontist?

Depending on the severity of your condition, we’d normally need to see you every five to eight weeks.

That’s it, I’m sold! What next?
