Removable braces have an acrylic base and stainless steel components to hold the appliance firmly onto the teeth.
Once you have had your braces removed you will need to have a retainer fitted to prevent your teeth from moving out of their new perfectly straight position. We've seen many patients come to us after their brace treatment as their teeth have relapsed, meaning their teeth have moved back into their original position. As your teeth are constantly moving we recommend you have a retainer fitted immediately after braces.
Crooked teeth can cause many problems, so getting them fixed will be beneficial. Your teeth, gums and jaw muscles can start to wear. Your teeth may become cracked and you may feel some strain to your jaw. Depending on the severity of your case, you may experience some minor speech problems because your teeth can affect the way you sound.
